    Blackbird has arrived

    Good news!

My Blackbird 1.7 Dbl is finally here. Its great, well worth the money, and I can't wait to get out on a hang if things go to plan.

Even though its overkill for my weight, I really liked the green colour, and it was instock at the time, so all good.

Took around a month, but it was ordered at christmas, and Brandon had to restock Fabric, so no problems there.

Shipped in around 10 days using priority mail, which is pretty good to Australia.

No pics, as I don't have my camera with me.

Unforutnately, I don't have any where suitable to hang it, except 2 trees in the front of my house, but they are aroun 25 - 30 feet apart. But I may still try and hang with those trees.

Only surprise was that it came without carabiners,so I'll go out and pick some up later today.

Now I'm just waiting on my Superfly tarp to arrive.

And thanks to Brandon for answering all my emails, and being helpful throughout

Well good on ya! Now you get to update your User CP with suspension and hammock info. As for trees, I am in the same boat and so bought a Byer Vario stand...it was MUCH less expensive than paying for two full grown trees to be put in the backyard.

Thanks Law Dawg. I was looking at those vario stands, and they do look good. Try and see if I can get them locally.

Also forgot to add, the info sheet that came with it, said I had the new ad. webbing straps, using buckles that have more bite to them, so I don't need to use a backup knot behind the buckles. I thought that was pretty cool, but I don't know how long Brandon's been using them for.

Long distance between trees - no problem

Maybe using one pole like in this website will help if you trees are too far apart. Haven't tried - just happened to find it on this website.

    Hope to try it soon!

    Lack of trees

I ran into the same problem with no trees in the yard. I dug a hole 2 and a half feet deep and placed a 4" by 4" in the concrete into the hole. Drilled a hole and ran a I bolt throught it. I ran another bolt through a fence post that was already was in place. So I was out $15 for my hammock stand. I set mine up close enough to clip the hammock ( with the huge ENO biners) in and do not have get out the suspension.

Just another Idea cheaper planting grown trees.

I would add if married you may want to tell wife. I did not (he was not happy). Sometimes easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

    Happy hanging
