Hey anyone and everyone. I just thought I would finally fill out my "introduce yourself" post. I live in Alabama and love camping and the outdoors. I really like making my own equipment. It's been so long now but I think alcohol stoves are what got me first researching DIY and then as I opened my search parameters I kept coming across references to this site and finally I had to become a member so I could see the pictures that you guys post. I've learned so much and I appreciate all the hard work that has come before me. I must warn you that my first priority with gear is longevity, not necessarily shaving every possible ounce off my gear, so I've yet to invest in Amsteel and silnylon. I may have a source for down from time to time and if it comes up again, I'll be sure to post it here for those of you that enjoy making your own TQs and UQs. Post back at me if you want. I'll try to post some pictures of some of my DIY hammocks soon. I also have a camp chair that I've made a couple of versions of that I want to post as well if it will be allowed since it isn't exactly a hammock, but more like a camp accessory.
