    Pad Comfort in JRB BMBH

Hey everyone. I'm planning a purchase of a BMBH in the next few days/weeks. I was wondering if anyone has been using a pad (ccf) with it in the pad sleeve, and could comment on the comfort level. I assume that with the pad in the sleeve instead of the hammock itself, it will be more comfortable, but i have no experience to base that on. Also, any info related to the temp rating of a ccf pad would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

I have used a z-rest ccf pad in the pad sleeve. I have also used a BA aircore pad in the sleeve.

They have both worked well in New England summers but I needed an UQ this Fall. So I am guessing that means about 50 deg F.

I like the structure that the pads add to the bridge. I like the bridge without the pad as well but there is definately a different feel to it.
    Love my JRB BMB

thanks! that actually answers my concerns pretty well. During the summer i can carry the ccf and go ultralight, and since PA falls/winters are not much different than New England ones, I can go with an UQ for the rest of the time.

BMBH works better with a pad than any other hammock made. It's a great hammock

i agree...the BMBH works nice with a pad

Also my opinion re; pads with this hammock. Really no comparison. If was going to use a pad, especially a full length pad, it would be my choice hands down.

Even if, IMO, a BMBH would be more comfortable/easier to use with a pad than any other hammock I have tried pads with ( including with a Speer SPE or gathered end pad pockets), I am not going to say it is 100% as comfortable with a pad as with an UQ. However, in some ways as mentioned by TJM, it is actually better with a pad. A wide pad widens the hammock on the bottom. Diminishing the reason for some of the bridges few drawbacks: lack of shoulder room and inability to sleep full fetal.

A lot of folks hate hammock pads period, a few don't have trouble with them. But if you know you are going to use a pad, this is the hammock of choice (IMO).

Alright so that is an obvious thumbs up on the comfort factor. What about temp though? Any other feedback on cold weather (20-30*) use of a ccf or any other pad?
