HH Hex
I'm looking to (finally) upgrade to a larger tarp. If anyone here has used the HH Hex (sil-nylon), how did it perform? Did the tie outs seem adequatly strong? Did it flap noisily in the wind? I would greatly appreciate any comments or impressions you have about this tarp.

a friend owns one & i`ve seen it used (helped put it up & take it down) several times.
i like the tarp. i haven`t seen it preform in very much wind, but i belive the tie-outs are well done.
i also really like the pockets on the corners to store the lines, keeping them un-tangled.
it`s big enough to give lots of cover for gear, cooking & stuff yet streches taught & looks good. ...tim

Like slowhike, I've seen them but don't own one. Good coverage, and the guyline pockets sure look convenient. Looks like it doesn't pitch as tightly as a MacCat, though. If I were choosing between the two, I'd go with a MacCat. The MacCat Delux is a bit bigger than the HH Hex I saw, and the MacCat Standard is a bit smaller.

I just thought of a couple of killer tarps. A 9x9 and a 12x12 "Neo" Sportsmans Guide Silnylon Digital camo or Olive Drab Tarp. Sure wish those were being made.

I haven't slept under my BlackCat in the rain yet (it's not seam sealed), but I can already tell it's a much better bet than my 9x9 SG.

They are working great. I decided to not use them with the hammock and underquilt. I really dont like compressing it so much. Not much difference in time to set it up. I'm using them on the UL Backpacker I have. I decided to keep the cord lock system you made. It works well. Thanks again.
