I was thinking about doing this as well Chunk, haven't got mine yet though so I wont know what exactly I'm going to have to do to adjust it for my own comfort, but it's definitely something I'm looking at, especially for summer insulation.
I was hoping to have mine today, but it didn't show up. I spoke with UPS and they said packages with a history such as mine tend not to show up ever.....
Just another Ham in a Hammock....
What kind of history is that, exactly? I'm confused...
If the bar code gets damaged, you can see, in Quantum View or tracking, that the info was received by ups (done electronically) but you never see the progress of the package thru the system. You should see arrival and departure scans on the package every time it gets handled. If the bar Cade is damaged, the employee has to key enter the data and if their key strokes are off or the human readable is damaged also, then the location never gets associated with the package until the package gets to the destination center. There, they do a Lookup and put it on the truck for delivery.

The tracking stopped on the 28th in Washington state. The page still says it is on time, and going to be delivered yesterday by end of day.

I ordered mine on the 25th of January (Tuesday) and it arrived on the 31st (Monday).
That was Canada Post Expedited.
The waiting can be dreadful, but it's in the pipes. I'm sure your undercover just took a side-trip down to California...in fact, I'm willing to bet you that it arrives with a beautiful tan--a beautiful brown colour!!!
I hope yours arrives any day now!!
I tore mine open like Christmas, and then it sat on a chair for a couple of days. We just kept staring back and forth at each other, like a young couple who knew their lives were never going to be the same again...
Wrapped a space blanket over the underpad and had a nap inside with just my jacket/clothes (I was naughty and left my boots on!!). Temperature was just below zero C. Comfy!! Especially if you are a back-sleeper.
My fingers got seriously c-c-c-c-cold trying to attach everything--especially threading the pull-out cords through the small holes. Gloves = Fail. Be smarter than me, attach everything while you're still inside.
Obligatory pic of the complete setup that actually shows you nothing:
(I later lowered the fly to help shed the snow)
Is it wrong to think your hammock should have a name?

With the weather the way it has been on the east cost and in the south, many packages are not making it to there current destinations on time. If it left Washington and hasn't been rescanned at a destination center then the delivery time will not be updated. The backlog of packages right now is huge. and may take a week or so to get back on track..
