WHile I am composing a statement about the hang ban, can anyone who caught it give me the name of the ranger who came by on Saturday? I would like to have short follow up chat with him.

Also--I am starting a thread to cover the emerging details about the March hike-n-hang. The standing plan is to do somewhere between 12 and 20 miles in a weekender trip. The challenge of course is to find a good loop or a linear with enables us rides back to the original trail head. There is always the option of an out and back, but I for one am less psyched about that than the others. Big loops are hard to find--the Withalacoochee being the one I am most familiar with (no hang restrictions). Wide open though to all ideas and a few from Zuki, Mad, and a few others deserve full consideration. In practical terms March is in a week, so our plans need to fall into place fast.

Excellent idea. I'm definitely in for getting one. I had forgot my camera at home and was going to put out a plea to JaxHiker and/or whomever it was that took several pictures of my clan (I was the one with the 3 boys and the dutch oven pizza and chocolate cherry surprise).

    Wow! Wow! wow! everybody.
I just got home this afternoon. That first hot shower was just what I needed.

I stayed one extra night with a handful of us keeping the campfire stoked up.
Let me get my notes, and thoughts together from the long, incredibly successful Florida Group Hang weekend.

Thanks for the kudo's Rich, but to be very honest, I did nothing to organize this event. All that goes to Islander, Flackfizer, Damifino and Edhess. I just made some arrangements for the wood. On that note, I would like to thank the above for a great gathering and also to all that came and enjoyed the time spent together. The food that was prepared was beyond my imagination to come from a bunch of hammock campers. But it sure was good.

Thank you all for a great time
