    Whoopie Sling question

Is it possible for some one to make a whoopie sling from the supplied spectra rope that comes with the hennessy hammock?

no sirree only open braid style rope such as amsteel so that it can pass through itself. The stock core has a core that prevents this from happening

this is the style cordage you need to make whoopies:

    (note: open braid)

Unfortunately, no. Whoopie slings require an open-braided line.

    Good luck,

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I made whoopies out of 550 cord. They are braided but have the 7 strands of cord inside. Beast of a time getting them pushed through, but doable..

How is that possible? 550 cord has a kernmantle construction. In addition to interference from the inner strands, the outer sheath is too tightly braided. I guess you could force it but I wouldn't trust the end product.

After seeing his post I tried to make a soft shackle from paracord I had sitting, intending it to be used for the prussics on my tarp ridgeline. I don't have an awl to hand, which might make things easier, but I couldn't get it to work at all..
