I expect that we will shoot to get in well before sundown on Friday and head northward on the blue blaze. That trail head is right across the road from the Fire Tower parking lot. We will prolly head 1 mile in, or less even. Just find a nice camp for the night. For those who don't know it, this is one of the easiest trail heads and loops you could want to have. The parking lot is a grass field with a map pavilion and water spigot next to some sort of forest management vehicle area. That means that workers are coming in and out all weekend (cars nice and safe). The water probably needs filtering, but it is there! The north-bound Blue Blaze is marked very well across the road from the turn in to the parking area. The south bound link up to the FT is a bit more hidden, back about .2 of a mile down the CLay Sink Rd you all would be driving down to get to the Fire Tower. There is a cut track before it which I went down accidentally once, but it still connected. We have time to get the ducks lined up though. Very glad we have most of the details sorted though.
Hedgehogs! Why can't they just share the hedge?

Found this--it is on the CLay Sink Rd heading towards the Tower parking area. If memory serves, we would walk back past this place and then turn right in the pic (left in the real world) to head south to the FT.

Mapquest shows this is closer than I thought. I should be able to get down there in plenty of time to hike to the Saturday night site. Looking forward to it!

I may have found a solution to your sherpa problem on one of the sailing forums...

GSI Outdoors 12-inch Aluminium Dutch Oven

and if you're really interested (or just curious)
    http://www.sailgb.com/p/GSI_Outdoors...um_Dutch_Oven/

I'll let you know if I find one in titanium.
