    New low for me...

~11-12 degree Saturday night. Previous low was ~28d

Using my Big Agnes bag with insulated pad, a Lost River UQ, and hot water in my nalgene.

Dad-gum cold getting out of it in the morning.

    Congratulations!
Yeah ... the getting out of the hammock part is the hardest. So nice snugged up in the hammock.

Congrats! Gettin' out there's what it's all about! Having the right gear and a no-fear attitude sure helps!

The great thing about a hammock is the ease of making a hot cup of your favorite morning beverage while staying in your bag!

JW - do you think your set up can go colder? Do you desire to go out in colder temps I guess is the real question?

I think that is as low as I could go without adding more insulation or heat source. Friday night was 17-18 and I was very comfortable. The 11-12 on Sat was okay but not as comfy. I had to leave all my clothes layers on too.

I'm an assistant scoutmaster and I camp with my Troop so I have to be ready for whatever temp comes.

Any colder than that I would be breaking out an emergency blanket and some hot-packs.

That's one reason I like incorporating insulated pants and a jacket into my sleeping gear...great for sitting around in, and it keeps me just a little more comfortable in the morning when I get out from under all that down.

Congrats on a new low! (Doesn't that sound a bit creepy?)

    That's cold. Well done.

Getting out in the morning, packed, and back on the trail is the toughest part.
