Glow In The Dark Line-Loks Tensioners.

    Directions for use:

Here's some shots of the tensioners:

With Speer No Tangle guy line:

    With Mason Line:

This is the discussion thread for ther group buy on the Line-Loks.

I have been playing around with these tensioners and I have to say that I think their listed rope sizes are a bit off. These are listed for handling 2-5mm line. It works great with smaller line like the Speer No Tangle and cheap Mason Line. I also tried it with the 7/64" Spectra I use a lot which is listed at 3mm. The Spectra line does work with the tensioners, but I can't see using line much bigger than 3mm. I don't think 5mm line would even fit between the jaws.

These things do have incredible holding power.

How brightly do they glow in the dark? Will it be enough to keep you from tripping over your lines? (That's the most important feature, y'know... )

They do glow pretty bright. I can charge them up using a LED flashlight and you can see them glowing in a well lit room (seriously). I have no idea how long the glow lasts, but they will help to keep you from tripping over you guy lines. I think they could also help you to find your way back to the hammock in the dark.

I fully meant to take a picture of the whole 350 units in the dark, but I wanted to get them on their way and I didn't have time.

I am thinking about getting some glow in the dark line also.

We need to find some glow-in-the-dark spray treatment, and then go to town on everything... .

Glow in the dark eating utensils and pot cozies would be cool...

    Oh wait, here it is...

I had checked out that site a while back (http://coolglowstuff.com/page4.html)
and found that S&H was pretty high for small quantities. Perhaps a group buy?
From what I have read, the new glow in the dark materials will have a useful
glow all night. Just make sure you charge them up during the day. I don't know how long the glow will last using a flashlight to charge them. Hopefully all night. Perhaps someone will test this and report back.

I want glow in the dark edible gear. Then I wouldn't need a flashlight b/c my belly would be glowing. www.ediblegear.com

Seriously, that cave and diver rope is probably low stretch, and some if it is rated at 1000lbs. That might be worth an investment...

I've got quite a bit of that stuff. I don't know if it is 'low stretch' or not, but will be happy to do some experimenting.

Looks like shipping and handling is like $7.50. I don't know if you would really save that much doing a group buy because you would still need to reship the items. You would have to have a pretty heavy discount to make it worthwhile.

Let us know what you think about the line when you get it.
