    It doesn't really matter if you connect the hammock close to the top rail hang points as should be done.

    Several people have reported cutting pieces at various lengths so they can mix and match to vary the top rail length depending on which hammock they use.

    I am using 2, 5' pieces and 1, 4' piece for 14'. Want plenty of room to hang the tarp. I have the short piece in the middle, but mainly it is just for visual reasons.

    what would be the idea thickness for using Bamboo?? Stand Length, and Ridge pole Length?.

    Found some local area's that sell it, in poles..

    Can alway's buy Fence Rail from Lowes $12 bucks for 21' I think it was..

    Lowes sells "closet rods" made of wood that are at least 10 feet long. I do not remember what they are made of.

    I'm going to try my hand at this myself. Our boy scout camp has many different kinds of camping from wooded sites to the middle of a field, so I need to be ready for anything, lol.
