As an ultralight backpacker, and a lazy person, and cheap, I'm not sure I want to go through all the hassle/expense/weight of a top quilt and underquilt, etc. I'm wondering if I could buy a large/long mummy bag and pull it around the hammock, thus creating an uncompressed layer of insulation all around me. I would sleep on a ccf pad between me and the hammock. Thoughts? Anybody try this? Suppose I do this with a zero degree bag. Would I be comfortable in the low single digits? Sleeping with a down jacket on and a warm balaclava?
