    What width amsteel for suspension?

I'm switching to whoopies (god they are easy). I want to order some amsteel.

I need specifics on what is suggested for the whoopies. And also if a different size is used for the ridge line.

Secondary question would be what stores would sell this or is it best to go the ebay route?

7/64" or some use 1/8" amsteel. Not sure on the ridgeline. I just made one last night and used the 7/64, as that is what I have. Some are using, I think, 2.2mm line. Someone will let you know. I got mine here. They were offering a discount if you tell them that you are from Hammock Forum.

Thanks that's a good price for a lifetime supply. I found a site that sells by the foot but its pricier and no color options. www.berkeleypoint.com/products
    Interesting titanium products too.

You can buy it by the foot, you don't have to buy a full 600' roll. The first time I bought 200'. The price still good, just not as good as the 600'

7/64 should be plenty strong enough. I used the same for my ridgeline. I was only getting a little (I think 100'), and I went with one of the advertisers here. I think here: http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/a...s/show/1613432

Agreed 7/64 for suspension is plenty, though you can go with 1/8 if your the nervous type. Zing it/Lash it 2.2 or 1.75 are most common for rigelines as it doesn't need to be as strong, but 7/64 works too.

yep 7/64" has held my hammock aloft, and I used it to tow a 4wheeler out of a ditch in minnesota this summer.
