That's great news, Hooch. Congrats on your first hammock. Many more will follow.

Same difference. Just kidding, sorry for the misquote. But then again, the part about the dancing banana isn't really in there, either.

Congrats. Don't worry about the looks, its the performance that counts, and crooked seams hold just as good as straight . Only perfectionists look at the seams that close, and nobody likes perfectionists.

I've found that holding your mouth and tongue right also helps with the bird's nests in the sewing machine.

There are point rankings you get for the stuff you build, its just that the first one has to be a hammock. No points for duplicates of items you've built before, unless the seams are straighter. There's a complicated scale that the Grand Vizar manages. I heard it threw the SSSS-HF leadership into a tizzy when Dutch did his combined pack and bridge hammock because they didn't know how to score it. In the end he got the points for a DIY pack, plus the points for a DIY hammock, plus "innovation" points.

I never quite figured out what the points are good for myself...

Maybe we should be allowed to save them up and cash them in for cheap plastic merchandise like at Chuck E. Cheese.

Grizz, how many points did you get for your Hammock Hangar?

I'd say that name is nothing less of befitting. But, a very cool piece of DIY gear, nonetheless. Personally, I'd be pretty happy with that much space to change clothes etc.

Grizz recently was secretly promoted to HF Poobah status on the (heretofore SECRET, <ahem!>) poobah point system -- not yet a GRAND Poobah, but a Poobah nonetheless. He blinded them with SCIENCE.
