A big thanks to Iafte, Stalker, and Steve for spearheading this get together.
As usual we had a blast, great food, friendship, and lots of interesting setups
to learn from. A big thanks to all who helped get my van unstuck.

I know I breaking the first rule of the hang (what happens at the hang....)
but I have to tell ya. This was Syb's first group hang and darn if he doesn't
    look exactly like his avatar.

What a blast! Had a great time at the hang this year and already looking forward to the next winter hang (and the possibility of a NJ Kayak / Hang I heard whispers of... hmmmmm!?? yesssirr!) Glad to see the familiar faces from last year as well as the new faces equally so. Weather was great and the snow made it all the more adventurous! Thanks much to all who put it together - Major kudos to those who braved the snow and the un-plowed drive in!!

Again, can't wait till the next hang!

    -George

p.s. anybody seen my metal spatula? Its my favorite (uber sad-face!)

p.p.s. congrats to Paul for the win on the 1st officially judged winter hang cook off!!

I'm pretty much just repeating what others have said but, It was great to meet all of you. Thanks for arranging this and I can't wait for the next one... If the next hang involves hammocks, kayaks, AND smoked, bacon wrapped, turkey then theres no way I could miss it... HAHA.. I had fun, thanks everyone.

Russ and I had such a wonderful time the the Piney woods. It was great meeting all you you and it was such a relief to know that our hammock setups actually will take us into the single digits. Thanks for inviting us! Lets do it again.

First I want to thank everyone who came. Had a great time with some great people.

Friday was setup day/ run around. Got to camp at 10th:45, and scoped out where the cooking area would be as well as where the firepit was going. After the kitchen was set, I setup my 3 hammocks. Then it was off to get my boys. Arriving back around 5:30, I saw that stalker and Jim had made a snowfa and lovesleet. What a great idea. Sitting around the fire talking with old as well as new friends was the order of the night. My sons made a cooler and started on an igloo. Got to bed around 11 and slept warm all night. Think it got down to 24.

Saturday started with breakfast by the fire. We took a group hike up to the memorial where my boys had a snowball fight. Video to come later. My boys and some of the other members made a snowman that you see in the pictures.

After the hike everyone hung around waiting for 4pm so we could get the fire going. Some started prepairing thier food for the dinner, others just talked shop. Dinner was great with Oh-No taking first place in the Coup de Grace de grub. Had fun with the raffle, nothing big, just some stuff to have a good time with. Story time around the fire had everyone laughing. I then got a chance to sit and relax for the first time all day and napped around the fire. This also had people laughing at my expense. But hey, as long as everyone has fun right? Don't know what time it was when I finally left the fire and went to bed, but it was when my oldest was ready for bed.

It got down to 12degrees overnight and again I slept warm all night except when I needed to get up and water a tree.

Sunday was sad as people were heading out calling an end to a great weekend. After everyone was gone and it was just me, my boys, stalker and stick left a group of day hikers came through and loved the snowfa and lovesleet and were amazed that we had spent the weekend camping. Driving out I flew the hammock forums flag from the back of my truck.

I'll post more pictures later when I get home since I forgot my memory card in my home pc.

Once again, thank you to all who came and helped make the weekend such fun!

guys thanks a lot for a great weekend. yous put a lot effort in to it and it showed.
kaia and i are still recovering from hike it. not my brightest idea, but i'm not known for bright ideas. i think everyone was warmer the second night even though it was 12 degrees. can't wait till next year.
