Glow in the Dark Mini Line-Loks

I bought 12 of these thinking I would be able to see my guylines in the dark but I have tested them and they don't even glow for a half an hour! I used my 3 cell Mag Light that I converted to l.e.d. (extremely bright)to charge them. Charged them for about 30 seconds, stuck them in my backpack (it was daylight) and came back 30 minutes later and they were not glowing at all!

Needless to say, I am very disappointed! Anybody having any luck with these things? I will say that they are great for adjusting guylines but I might as well have gotten the black ones. Oh well, you live and you learn I guess.

I have them on my tarp and if they get a good charge(more than 30 seconds) they will glow all night.

Mine glow quite a while. I'll set up once in camp (probably 3-4 hours before dark). I usually get under the tarp quite a while after dark (again 2-4 hours) and they still glow. I don't know about middle of the night. They don't move so I don't have to readjust in the middle of the night.

I know they glow all night because I have used them to get back to my hammock after a presunrise rest room visit.

I have a few of these laying around the house -- planned to drill a hole thru the center & attach by my guylines.

I am not a physics major,

but I believe they need charging with UV light to work well. The longer the charge the longer the glow.

    Field Test

    Field tested this weekend...

I had forgotten about this thread until I got up at midnight and again at 6am to take care of business Saturday night/Sunday morning. I couldn't figure out what all of the little glowing spots were all around our tarps, then I smiled and remembered this thread.

Tarps were deployed around 10am Saturday morning. Complete dark at the camp around 6:45pm. Line-Loks were still glowing at 6am the next morning.
