Aloha from Kauai

Surfer, camper/hiker, K9 SAR / K9 support, radio ops, newbie to "real" Hanging. Got here through watching You-tube and "Shug". The Group here, certainly has a funny and wonderful spokesperson for Hammocks & Tarps.

Have been a tent camper for years and in many instance's a hammock would have been the better choice along with a tarp. Camping is mostly done here on our local beach's, so tents are the obvious selection, but we do have other areas where a tarp and hammock are, the better choice. Lots of remote areas around the Island to set up a tarp and hammock.

Cetainly hope to learn more from all you ladies & gentlemen here on the forum.

Welcome to the learning curve!
I'd be interested to hear about the rules/regs/etiquette for hanging in your backcountry areas- my impression is that all land is owned by somebody..and park access is limited to designated campsites...mostly rumor I admit...
