    Pillow on a cord

Did I dream it or did I see someone with a pillow which attached to the hammock ridgeline with a piece of shockcord ? It was a triangular shaped thing which could be stuffed with a fleece or spare clothing of some sort.

I've got the thread injector bug going on at the moment so fancied having a go at one.

I stuffed a small pillow with climashield and sewed in a loop of small grosgrain. I attach it to my ridgeline with shock cord. works great...

One side is ripstop, the other fleece...

    It's about 7x10", and about 4" thick...

I know that Paul at AHE sells a type of pillow that you are describing. I have not seen a triangular one though.

    Pillow + Cord = Good

I took a Thermarest pillow, removed about 50% of the foam fill and now have a perfect (for me) hammock pillow. But being male and over 60 means one or two relief trips per night, and I was constantly dumping my pillow out of the hammock. Or losing track of it when I got back in.

AHE's pillows were an inspiration - just add a length of shock cord and a mitten hook and problem solved! Thanks Paul.

i use the stuff bag from my UQ - with a extra piece of string and a cord-lock attached, for an adjustable pillow. I then fix it to a mini carabiner in the end of my WBBB. I am planning to sew a piece of thin fleece on one side of the bag, just for the extra comfort for some negligible weight.....

I carry a rolled up piece if eggshell foam pad that I pulled out of a package. I roll that up and stuff it into a stuffsack from my tarp and clip it to my hammock ridgline. It does end up hangin off the side at some point in the night.

yep, you are thinking of a peak bag.
    http://gear-report.com/diy-self-clos...peak-bag-myog/

I use one of the following as a pillow, depending how weight sensitive I am:
    -a shirt or sweatshirt
-a small pillow tied to the head end of my hammock with a string (not shock cord... don't like the way shock cord will "pull back" on the pillow).
    -a small fleece blanket

my pillow is made the same way ... works great and you don't need to worry about it falling away from your head in the middle of the night
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
