I've been reading up on whipping and the options and consequences there...
My plan is to make a 1.1 oz DBL layer and zip on/off bug netting. DBL layer to have options for embedded pad, though I do have UQ...
I may not put on the bug netting right way...since I wont need it until June/July but need the hammock for mid-March....
I have lots of questions, but won't put all of them in one thread...
To the questions...
1. I see from many of the excellent directions here, that the last 8 inches of the hammock body on each side have to be sewn together into a tube to allow a "landing pad" for the zipper.
I see how a "standard whipping" can be done with this tube, but what other options are out there with this tube. It seems the "W" method (also at the bottom of Jeff's page) would not be possible?
...so basically looking for whipping experience of those who have zippered hammocks...
2. I've seen a few options out there for folks who have zippered bug netting and a structural ridge line that goes through the whipping. Has any method gained popularity over others...?
