Does any one use the figure 9 hooks on there suspension system? I just purchased a couple of them and not sure if they will degrade my suspension ropes to quickly?

I didn't think mine as strong enough for my hammock suspension. I use them on my tarp end tie outs. I don't have a CRL, just tied out from the end with 8 ft piece that would be easily replaced if the Fig 9 happened to wear on it too bad. It would take setting up in the same spot, or the exact same distance to do this. I imagine I'll get a lot of use before having to swap those lines out. BTW -- super easy way to set up and adjust my tarp with out at CRL!
Their not rated to be used in the suspension of your hammock. Tarps, clotheslines, etc, but not to hold even a small child in a hammock.

The large ones will hold you but it will degrade your suspension. There are better and lighter options outt here for you.

Are the large ones even rated high enough? I don't recall that they are. Even so they're big and bulky. Much better to go with some lightweight biners or something similar.
I love Figure 9s but only use them for my tarp and hammock tie-outs.
Their certainly not rated for it, but I found them to work without problem. I did have some abrasion on my stock HH cord before swapping out the suspension.
