    hello

hey just wanted to say introduce my self, of course im new to hammocking, im preparing to go on a thru hike of the at next year. The only exp. i have in backpacking comes from my army days in b.t. but growing up we did alot of camping, one year during the summer spent almost three months in maryland camping out while my dad finished his work for sprint laying fiber optic cable, for the most part lived mainly in the south, mostly tx untill h.s. then la.

Im highly leaning towards a h.h. so all tips would definetly be apprieciated. Also any leads to some good steals on good eq. would not be frowned upon.

Hope to learn alot and be kept motivated.

    Hey TW, Welcome to HF?

Looking in the "For Sale" section is a great way to get gear. Also, DIY (Do it yourself) is a very cheap and easy way to get gear as well.

The Warbonnet Blackbird is a great hammock. Keep reading the forums and you will find the answers to all your questions. Also, feel free to ask away here. Everyone on the site are awesome and willing to help out.

Where do you plan on going on your thru-hike?

Welcome to HF. Good luck on your thru hike next year. Get your hammock gear together and get hang time in between now and then.

thanks for the replies everyone, im wanting to have my hammock setup all figured out and be all ready to start hangin in a month or so. And shug's video's via youtube is how I found the forum and really started thinking about a hammock as an alternate to a tent in the first place.
