Good point though. Should point out more clearly that it's a DIY. And a doozy at that.

Yeah, it was a b'day present. But... try buying those specs at the store and you'll find that this is probably 50% less.

Just read the Rev's thread about the myth of DIY savings. I concur whole heartedly with the thesis, and Billy Bob's thought. Making this is a hobby for me now, I have fun (sometimes frustrating fun) making my own gear.

My buddies and I just got back from a 25 degree night on the flanks of Cheaha mountain in Alabama (Turnipseed campground). They got so cold they could not sleep, not me! Snug as a bug in a rug. Cinammon Karo on bottom, Sto serape on top, frosted condensation on the tarp, ice on the outside, it was very, very hard to get out and face the bright new day...

I have purchased 5 yds. of M50 and plan on having stormcrow make a summer top quilt using his design. Im just waiting on the tax check. Hoping that using the M50 I can get the weight of it to be around 11 ozs. Im not much of a DIYer, at least at this point in time. He has been very good about working out prices with me since im send him the momentum.
