    New to the forum

    Hello everyone,

after lurking here for a bit, I finally signed up today and thought I'd introduce myself. First off, thanks to everybody who posts here, I have learned a lot from you.

After not hiking for a long, long time, I got back into hiking last November when a couple of colleagues and I went to hike the Foothills trail in South Carolina (btw, the Foothills trail is really a great hike). One of my colleagues did not have a tent, so I loaned him mine and sewed together a hammock and a tarp. Now, I'm hooked and already have a long list of things to make for my next big hike (thinking about the Georgia loop, has anybody done this trail with a hammock?).

Anyway, thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions, maybe some that have not been answered in the archives already. I look forward to being part of this great community.

Welcome to the site. The "Georgia Loop" is supposed to be the toughest hike in Georgia. It sure sounds like it would be an adventure.
