thru hiking the AT w/ hammock

i met a friend of ewker & HOI this weekend named "creek dancer".
she plans on a thru hike in 08 & said she is researching her options on gear including the choice between tent or hammock.
so how many people have thru hiked the AT using a hammock & tarp as thier primary shelter?
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I will be next year. Ed Speer did. There was a couple I heard of this year doing it from TrailJournals, but I cannot remember which ones.

Michele, which hammocker journal were you reading?
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

My plans for next March are to attempt an entire thru with a Hammock as my Primary and only method of shelter.

Cheesewiz went the whole way with his hammock this year.

In '08 I plan to use my hammock the whole way. The target start date is 6 April - but I will take the BMT for the first 12% of the trail. Maybe I will see her out there.

Does Cheesewiz have a journal or trip report posted anywhere? I'd really enjoy reading about the trip. For that matter are there any journals floating around about long distance hikers that just used hammocks?
