    Cheapest Tarp?

I'm not looking to compromise weight, coverage, or cost. What's the cheapest tarp that provides good coverage and is not too heavy on the wallet?

One of the best tarps that is out there and is still fairly light on the wallet is the Speer Cat Cut Tarp. Not only is Ed one heck of a nice guy, but his products are absolutely first rate, top quality and backed by superior customer service. That's just my opinion, but I don't think I'm too far off base. Of course, if you sew or know someone who does, a Black Cat can be made relatively cheap. This is an improved design over the MacCat tarps and is awesome, looks like someone parked a stealth bomber over your hammock.

It's white, & likely weighs about 2 Lbs, but at just under $25.00 It won't hit your wallet too hard:

AND: 12 x 12 is HUGE! If this don't cover you, I can't help. A bonus is: SG has a FANTASTIC return policy, "If you don't like it, return it, no questions asked."
If this one is like my "Neo tarp", it has a tie out on each corner, 2 on each side & 5 in the body.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

While I agree from looking at the specs, that the Speer Cat Cut is a very nice tarp. Speer's 10x11 isn't any cheaper than the MacCat Deluxe nor the new JRB 10x11, they are all in the same price range by just a few dollars. Knowing the reputation of all three companies, I am sure the quality is all the same. The Speer 8x10 is only $10 cheaper than a 10x11. I myself decided to go with the MacCat Deluxe.

    YMMV of course!

The amount of pull outs and being able to order brown pushed Speer's Winter Tarp over the top for me. The doors are great and the color disappears in the woods. No regrets.
