I appreciate all the advice, but the fact is, he's a scumbag, and I knew this for a long time but I thought he'd change. For as long as I knew him, he was dodging child support payments and associated warrants. I supported him for 3 years, expecting that he would get his act together. I just had too much faith.

He doesn't own a car, credit cards, cell phone. I think he's either in WI or northern MN, living off the goodness of someone else.

What really got me is that he left his HF account logged in when he left, so I checked out his messages to and from other members here. He sent out a lot of lies to people here about buying gear for his "kids" or "wife," trying to get a cheaper deal, all the while using my grocery money and rent money to pay for it.

I am now considering filing the report, just to add to his list of priors. Ugh. Disgusted.

It sounds like you've "rolled over" for three years...he's counting on you to do it again. Don't.

Did you have renter's insurance???...I don't know how what would fall under the category of theft since he lived with you...but I am sure there is some kind of claim you could make...I could be totally off on this...but i would look into that option if you had the renters insurance...good luck!!!

A little off topic. But the day the sherrif came a knockin' with a warrant for my ex wife (even though she lives a thousand miles away) tickled me pink for days

I don't know the law in your state but will wager it is not that different from Kalifornia. Here this case would be seen as civil in nature because you both set up house. He has "community property" that may or may not be seen as yours depending on the decision of a court. You would need to hire a lawyer and legally resolve all this. Then get in line behind his children...
