    Hanging Quilts/Sleeping Bags

The gf is wanting to straighten up my gear room . I may never find anything again

Right now all of my quilts/bags are laying out on a bed on top of each other. I don't have a closet where my gear is at much less one tall enough to hang them in. Anyway we were talking about hanging my sleeping bags and quilts from the ceiling. We were looking at them trying to decide how to hang them from the ends. Unfortunately there are no loops on any quilt/sleeping bags I own.

How are you folks hanging your quilts/sleeping bags that don't have any loops.

Run, Ewker! That's how they take over your life...one bobby pin at a time.

Okay, seriously, I have no room to hang stuff, so I've compromised, and use giant mesh laundry bags to store my quilts in.

I actually just put the small end of my down bag through a hanger half way and hang it from a nail in the ceiling. My UQ i sewed loops on for triangle thingies so i put the loops over the hanger handle and hang it up. You might want to sew a couple of loops on your stuff just to hang it. A couple of long ,4", eyescrews screwed into the ceiling a few feet apart with a piece of doweling through the eyes also works. You can either hanger stuff from that or just flop stuff over the top.

    +1

This is what I do too after airing them out and it has worked well.

I bought a few of those plastic storage racks from Home Depot and set them up like supermarket aisles. Really reduced the time it takes to organize for a weekend trip.
    Love my JRB BMB

    Don't let it happen!!
My wife "organized" the garage one day..."thing-a-ma-bobs are on the left, doo-hickeys are on the right, alphabetically...of course".

    I still can't find things.

Big mesh bag and a hook on the wall works here.

How about the plastic hangers from the clothing stores used to hang pants, skirts, etc. There must be a dozen around our place. These are the ones with the clip on each end.

That is what I use, doesn't take much material in the clip to hold the bag. I have storage bags and use them in the car when I am headed out to hike. Last thing in my pack is my "stuffed" sleeping bag at the trailhead.

Of course, this probably makes as much sense as "seat backs up you live" vs "seat backs reclined you die" on an airplane. But, it all makes us feel better
