Did you request that Ed make it that color or did it just come that color, Assuming your actually talking about the Winter Hammock Tarp and not the Hammock, LOL?

I suspect you'll be very happy with either one. The Speer has more tie-outs which is an issue for me, but I've not heard anyone speak badly about it; quite the opposite. Both are run by good people with good products. Tough to make a bad decision.

My vote is for the MacCat, but that's JMO.

Just my opinion of course but Ed's tarp looks like a Macat with doors on it, also gives you the option for a larger tarp with no doors!

You may recall you saw the MacCat standard last Saturday (it was the grey one).
It's really not a lot of coverage(compared to an 8X10). The deluxe would be closer to being in the ballpark of the speer 8X10.
If you wanna borrow the maccat, you are more than welcome to it.

There has been mention of a green Speer Winter Tarp, but I have seen nothing about it on the website. I would certainly like to see pictures.

I've been putting off ordering to see if he put up different colors before spring as I've only seen the silver/white listed on the site. Hence my previous post.

I ordered a Speer 8x10 cat cut. I just hope to have it by next weekend for my bikepacking trip. I've been spreading the hammock gospel to my riding/camping buddies here in Austin. I've even been carrying it around on my rides to practice pulling it out and setting it up/tearing it down quickly.
    I think I'm in love...

Did anyone ever test if you could get away with just two tent pegs per side on the winter tarp (for a standard pitch)?
BTW sherpa, if you're watching the grams find out if these weights include the pegs. The maccat's only gonna need 4, the 8X10 speer cat takes 6 and the speer winter takes 8.
