    1st DIY.... What I learned

I have recently completed my first DIY hammock and tarp. I have learned many things along the way. I am writing this post to pass along the things I have learned to those of you that are starting your first DIY projects or to hopefully add to the knowledge of seasoned DIY'ers.

    1) Only use Gutermann thread!! I attempted to use some cheap stuff I had around the house and found that it constantly broke or clogged my thread injector.

    2) Ripstop is SLIPPERY.... It did not take me long to find this out. Pinning and only sewing small portions at time sovled this problem.

    3) Space.... I first started to sew my project in a small corner in my basement but soon relized that i needed much more space to complete the projects esspecially the tarp.

    4) Measure twice cut once .... Enough said.

I hope this was helpful.... Thanks for reading.... any suggestions, additions, feedback is... as always welcome!!

    PS. Pics to follow
