I'm wanting to use a seperate tarp for my hammock. I want as much coverage as possible but in needs to weigh 16 oz or less. What do ya'll suggest?

MacCat Deluxe. They are about 13.5 oz.

Ooooooh, did you guys see he (Brian) has a 'limited run' of black MacCats?
Drool, drool, drool.

Would this cover 2 hammocks hung closely to each other?
I don't know, haven't tried it. I suspect you could make it work for light rain, but doubt it would be effective in a storm.
I know of one member here that has what Brian calls the 'titan' (take-a-knee, I think) and I'm pretty sure Brian will do custom orders. He is a member here, so you may want to shoot him a PM and ask about any custom options.

Speer Hammocks also have several tarps within you weight range that will give you great coverage. JRB also makes a 8x8 tarp that weighs 9.4oz and a 11x10 hammock that weighs 18oz.

I'd also recommend Speer. The Winter Tarp is outstanding if you expect to be in any kind of winter storm. I believe it is more than worth carrying even though it is right on your weight line.
I couldn't find it but are the Speer Hammocks fully seam sealed and is the weight given include guylines and stuff sacks?
They are seam sealed and most (all but the winter tarp) come with stuff sacks, I think. Guy lines are optional.

If your an ounce counter, you might look at Mountain Laurel Designs hammock tarps. Ron will make either design in Silnylon, 0.97 Spinnker Fabric, and cuben fiber. Yep, MLD's tarps are more expensive, but to the hanging ounce counter who doesn't want to make a DIY tarp, they're a good choice. Just a thought, since everyone else mention the other major tarps used around these parts.
