JRB Fleece quilt Liner

Anyone use one for a Summer TQ and if so...what is the lowest you would use it ?

i wanna cover all my options ... i know what i will get with 2.5oz CL
and pretty much know what i will get with IX

but i wanna know more about the JRB fleece quilt liner
i figure i would ask since there only $30 might be a good option in place of a IX or CL summer TQ

I had no clue they made one either. I juse picked up a fleece bag from dicks for $10. Figured it could be my summer tq for now and hopefully extend the temp for my eddie bauer down throw I use. The liner says it'll take you to 50 degrees, I kind of doubt that though. Its real thin. I was planning on making it a quilt with foot box but think ill try it as a bag first since its winter and I'm using a 3 season crowsnest. Can't really smash the insualation I'm thinking.

The JRB quilt Liner/summer fleece quilt has been out for about a year now...By itself it is good to about 55* in wind sheltered use.


It add 10-15* when used with a quilt... Smee used one at the MRWH with a Sierra Sniveller to -2* and in clothes.

I use one. Mostly to help boost temps in the winter. Have not used it by its self yet in the summer because I have not had it through a summer season yet. Only used with my winter set up to boost temps. I could see it being good in 55-60 degree at night with no winds. I sleep cold so I personally would not go this route but for a warmer sleeper I could see it working quite effectively. I need to go home and weight it because it almost feels heavier then my Summer Burrow and its def bulkier but a hella cheaper. A great boost in winter temps, does not pack down as small as my Summer Burrow, but could provide excellent summer insulation by itself if its above 55-60 degrees. Hope this help's G.L.P. Once it gets warmer I am certainly going to be testing this out in some day time temps so see how it works out.

A down quilt such as the JRB Shenandoah or JRB Stealth is 15-20* more capabilty than a fleece quilt liner at 2-3 less oz, and is a whole lot better in any breeze, but a lot more costly...

The primary value of JRB Quilt Liners is for occasional suplement to three season quilts for a once a year winter outing where one would rather spend $30 than a couple hundred or heat of summer use or for car camping hangers.

Define warmer... Most people use TQ and one should always be taken on the trip... less you be under prepared for a weird weather snap.
