To restate Slowhike's original post (sort of) The people at this years Group hangout were exceptional. They went above & beyond the call of duty in accommodating us for the winter hangout!! This would be a Great chance to pay back some of their generosity & a little pay it forward to next year's hangout. Sadly, I MUST work that weekend, so cannot attend.
A reminder, if any want to invite interested people at the fall fest: Next years hangout is January 20 – 22, 2012 as voted on at this years Hangout.
Thanks to all attending the Fall Festival! Our first "Promo"
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
We will be there. I look forward to meeting everyone.
My friend and I are coming.
What are the costs for the site and festival?
What should we bring to help out with?
I can bring several dozen cookies or maybe some fried apple/fruit pies or such for everyone or whatever else may be needed.
Let me know what I can do to help.
I don't think the festival cost anything unless you want to buy food, molasses, apple butter, crafts, etc.
I'm not sure what the cost per person will be for the group site yet. That will depend on the number of attendees, but it should be very reasonable.
Deserts will be good. And we will be talking soon about what the group might want to do for possibly a Sat morn breakfast & group supper on Sat... maybe Fri too.
We should also talk about what we want to to demonstrate hammock camping (and possibly other camp skills) at the Festival Sat as well.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
I'm still willing to make a pot of Gumbo on Saturday evening if there is interest. I don't want to volunteer for Friday in case I don't get to head out as early as I hope. It's a 12 hour drive for us.
