I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for Mt Rogers/Grayson. I think I've loaded everything except the frozen stuff. My cell number is 912-484-1604, which should work most of tomorrow. Not sure if we will have any cell service once we are in the park. Traveling via I-95 to I-26 to Bristol, I-81 N, and then US 58 to Damascus to Grayson.
If anyone thinks of something else that needs to be"acquired" let me know before 2:00 p.m. or I may be off-the-net by then.

I'm coming in from the south but my experience is that I lose cell coverage just before I get into VA (Verizon), so I turn it off to conserve the battery.
I'm told that when there is no coverage, the phone is using more battery by constantly searching. So I just turn it on when I want to try it, then turn it off again. I never lose battery charge that way.
I don't know how far out of Damascus you will get on that windy road, before you lose coverage, but when you are in GHSP, you will very likely be able to get cell by getting up on any of the high ridges, whether hiking or driving up to the Park Visitor's Center.

I'm trying to get everything packed tonight too. I'm having to work a double tomorrow to be off work for Friday. I'll be leaving first thing Friday morning up I-81 to Damascus then 58 and on to the park! Cant Wait!!!
