I am a newbe to the forum and hammock camping. I have decided on a DD Travel Hammock, however there is a simple problem. Freight. Although weighing only 4 1/2 pounds shipping is a whopping $168.00. Has anyone on the forum found a "better way". What I had in mind is someone coming to the US in the next month or two. Trans-ship via Canada? Group Purchase or something like that. Sure could use some ideas.

I bought a DD 2010 Travel Hammock and DD XL Tarp last year and did not pay anything like that in shipping.

If it's the wrong hammock they have a few others listed. Some include the "DD" before the name and some don't.
Try shooting Cannibal a PM, i know he have ordered a DD before(well probably several). But i'm pretty sure that he didn't pay that much in shipping....

Let us know how it goes. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a DD myself.
Sent an E-Mail to the Canadian supplier and received a prompt reply to the effect that they cannot ship to the US because of Liability Insurancde Problems in the US. They suggested finding a Canadian to order them for me and have them trans-ship them to the US.
I have the dd frontline. the travel hammock has non breathable material, make sure you know that less breathability of the material might give you more condensation.
I'm happy with my dd, integrated bug net rocks!
