Although $6+ shipping sucks (that is an extra 2 yards of fabric), in most states, thats that is cheaper than the 2 gallons of gas to drive somewhere locally and talk to someone who doesn't know ripstop from quilt material . After going to a few stores locally with pitiful selections - I am glad to give my business to Paul or Scott, or any retailer with a good representation, and satisfied post-purchase customers.
I just placed an order and dickered on the price
72" wide ripstop, interesting, can't wait to compare quality.
Shipped the next day, gota like that. Thanks for the heads up
I am so glad MAD777 went the extra mile with this nice lady. I had spoken to her about her fabrics and contacted Mike to ask him to give his evaluation of the quality as I was not nearly as knowledgable as he is when it comes to using fabric for DIY projects.
The lady's name is Rachel and I think that she is flexible with the shipping rate if you make direct contact with her. It might be a good source for fabrics if one of the cottage shops does not have what your looking for when considering a DIY project. The 72" as "GUMBO" mentioned is a great buy I think.
Sounds like that old Ebay trick where they try to avoid paying Ebay and Paypal as many fees as possible. Ebay doesn't take a cut of the shipping, so that way the seller keeps more money.
At that width, you could make a summer rectangle tarp without having to sew two halves along the ridgeline. The weight isn't so desirable, but could the higher weight be do to the sq yard age is based on the 72" width, rather than a sqXsq piece?
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.
I don't think I've ever been in a forum with so many guys that sew. lol. Uh...
"Are you gonna eat that?"
