Hello all. This is my first post here.
I have been using hammocks since I was a kid and camping out in them since I was a Paratrooper in the 80's. Back then we used those green nylon string hammocks, but with a poncho liner they were OK.
The last 10 years I have kept a small Byers Amazonas hammock in my pack for travel and for backpacking. I use it mostly for sitting in and naps during the day. I also bought a cotton string hammock in S. America that we use in the yard.
Last year I got a Dream Weavers hammock and absolutely love it. A little heavy for the trail, as it is cotton cord, but the most comfortable hammock I have found yet. It is a single-point mount hammock with a crossbar and I am experimenting with tents and tarps for these now.
Well, that is my total hammock credentials, I hope to learn a lot from your collective experience and will be posting a lot of questions this week.
Best,
DanO
