side tie-out material

what are the side tie-outs on a Hennessy type setup made out of.

I assume some kind of elastic shock cord. But need to know diameter.

I bought some 1/4 inch shock cord from Campmor, but it was way to big to my eyeball gauge.

Not positive, but by eyeball it looks to be about 1/8".
