    I did it myself!!! (Zing-it chain-links)

    I have been fighting with my spool of Zing-It for MONTHS trying to splice it. I followed all the tips I read here, and never had any luck. Well today that all changed;

    For anybody who still has difficulty splicing zing-it/lash-it try this:

    Use a (large) paperclip & needlenose pliers!
    Unroll the paperclip so it is long and straight. Fold it in half, and use the pliers to pinch it tightly together. (Very important step)

    After you create this tool, follow all the other how-tos, and you too will be splicing that crazy small stuff.

    So between using a paperclip & pinching it tightly together, I think I found a winning formula that works for me.

    My wife is getting annoyed at all the things I putting loops on around the house.
    I ride a recumbent.
    I like to HAM it up on the CW.
    I use Linux.
    I play go.
    Of course I sleep in a hammock!

    Rug, this works even better and will last longer.... And should also have a smaller diameter when folded over.

    Awesome idea on the hard drawn copper - I just so happen to have 5 rolls of that in the basement - we found a bunch on sale. We use it fishing in the Bahamas!
    Just another Ham in a Hammock....

    Or you can stop at any hobby shop they have rolls of this stuff in steel and other materials! I've got a roll of 22 24 $ 26 gauge the 24 works really well and the roll of 26 yards was pretty cheap. I've made several wire fid's of different lengths and been running with 2 & 1.75mm zing it.

    I use stainless steel mig welding wire moslty, and we use .45mm s/s wire at work to tie up stuff, real strong for the diameter. Anyone willing to send a self addressed envelope to Western Australia can get a bunch for free.

    Or try this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/beekeeping-st...-/270701401544
    I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
