I have a ENO SingleNest too, I bought it last fall, while on the way to a four day trip in Dolly Sods North, for use as a lounger. That was the beginning of my "interest" in hammocking...

    Be afraid, very afraid!

I quickly realized the ENO SlapStraps I bought should never be sold to anyone, ever. Why ENO sells those rubber bands totally eludes me. I kept using them, just learned to set it muuuch higher to allow for stretching.

Just today, I received a set of 12' straps and cinch buckles from Arrowhead Equipment:
    http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/a...s/show/1324005

I paid around $35 for everything, I'd already replaced those outrageously heavy biners with a set of nano biners from REI.

It took just a few minutes to larkshead the chain links on and slide the straps into the buckles. I now have the same suspension as my Blackbirds...yes plural -- I told you to be afraid!

I set it all up this afternoon and am totally happy. Oops, no pics -- so maybe I just dreamed it...

I ordered some whoopie slings and a butt load of 1" webbing last night for the suspension. Will be ditching the s-hooks and the rope in the channel end thingy.

Welcome! I grew up in them thar hills, now an expat implanted in northern va.

It's funny, I also started out with the ENO singlenest, their bug net, tarp and slapstraps. Thought the setup was PIMP!. I couldn't figure out why I would start off with the hammock at butt height, then end up at two inches from the ground when I woke until I found this forum.

Sounds like you've been doing what I have, luuuurking, and absorbing as much info as possible. Good luck with the modifications, but you might want to consider hiding your credit card because this stuff is addictive.

    Welcome Derek.

Or is that really your name?

I suspect the avatar pic is an old pic of yourself from your younger days and you are in fact Dr. Z

Who mysteriously vanished several years ago.

Do you have a hemi in that mustache ?
