What weight did you get out of it?
    I don't have a scale, so haven't weighted it.
I used 1.9oz sil... so it will be on the heavy side.

    Heavy but bomb proof!

The 1.1 ounce ripstop and a few other odds and ends came in today so I got a start on the hammock itself tonight.

I laid out the material and cut 18 inch triangles off each end to create a double thickness parallellogram. I then put a simple seam on each of the 4 long sides.

Remember, one of the goals of this project is to make assembly as easy as possible, so in the morning I'm going to sew the two layers together at each end with a simple roll hem, making a channel at each end of sorts.

After thinking about it, I think I'll try a warbonnet style whipping and see how it lays at that point.

I started with about 12 feet of hammock, less the 18 inches trimmed off, which leaves me at about 10.5 feet or so before whipping.

I'll snap a few pics tomorrow once I get it hung to show some of the details.

So far it's been really simple.

Still haven't made up my mind on the bug net yet ..... Decisions, decisions, decisions .......

    I finished up the tarp tonight .... 148 x 60 ....... I wanted it long ....

I'll hang it tommrow and try to get a few pics up.

The hammock is a bit problematic .... I got too much slack between the layers. The lay using the headchange4u whipping is amazing, but I haven't decided wether to cut the seams and re sew or not.

It works ok, it's just not pretty enough.

I've decided on a separate bug net .... I have this innate issue with enclosed spaces that I keep running into. I like the papa smurf open bottom net ... Might even just order one and be done with it.

Tarp .... 9.4 ounces with ridge line, tie outs, and stuff sack.

Hammock (no bug net) with tree buggers, Dutch clips, 8 ft whoopies, bishop bag, and shock cord tie outs 22.6 ounces.

Two pounds of goodness ..... Pics are coming.
