I would think you might want a few other people to help you use a case. Still, at less than $2 each...

Rust is the enemy. Oil your can to prevent rust.
Check your local wally's, in the kitchen area for a quart size stainless steel can.Stainless will work better. Also check your goodwill type store for stainless containers.
Make sure they are single wall. Do not use double-walled can for stoves, unless you drill holes in the sides to allow hot air/gas to escape.
Stainless will be heavier. And harder to drill into.

it's a downside of going DIY on the cheap.. there are some on here who have painted theirs with high temp paint and they have had no more rust issues

Steel and heat = rust out! Sooner or later you have that problem. I've had backyard burn barrels rust out from the heat of the fire. It's just the nature of the beast. I would be concerned that aluminum would melt with the heat of the fire but I could be mistaken about that. High temp paint might help but I suspect sooner or later that too would break down. Stainless is probably your best best.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

High temp paint will help.. doesn't stop rust but your $3 stove will last longer..mine is still going after a year and no rust. Here's a pic.http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...1&d=1297986698
