Well, he did it. I made my son a hammock, following the DIY HH instructions here... then he grew... a foot... maybe more... So, it's time to pass it on!
Materials: Joanne's blue ripstop (1.9oz/yd) body, with Organza bugnet sewn down one side with velcro attachment. Multi-colored cord makes up the ridgeline. This hammock is very roomy for the little one, and the velcro makes it easy to escape, when necessary. Side tie-outs are grosgrain, and with attached shock cord limits swaying.
Overall length: 76" (measured from whipping to whipping) Perfect for that kid up to about 4' tall.

Includes shock cord tie-outs (no stakes). and matching stuff-sack. Assembly is pretty good. the only thing I'd say isn't perfect on it is the bugnet attachment to the hammock body: it's not a rolled hem. I did heat-seal the edges, and they're holding up well, they're just not as pretty as I'd like them to be...
Includes a set of mule-tape ring buckle suspension straps.
FYI: A PLUQ is the perfect addtion to this hammock, it's perfectly sized as a full-length UQ.
This is a great hammock for the right-sized kid. It's lightweight, and packs well. A cut-down pad works great in this hammock, too.
