If hanging under a tarp in a WB Traveler in rainy weather (with the line/strap suspension) , will water run past the knot and reach the hammock?

Honestly, I'm not sure. But it's this possible problem that is a big part of my not caring for whoopies.
It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit
It is not a whoopie just a line.

that ring looks heavy...a 1/4inch x 2 inch piece of generic shamow does a good job. personally i've never had the issue with amsteel whoopies. I just dont think the amsteel wicks water. Another option if you using Dutch biners is to reverse what is normally done with whoopies and have the biner near the hammock and it acts as a waterbreak.
All you need to do is either use the tail end of the whoopies and wrap it aroung the whoopie and let it hang down, water will run down the whoopie to this point and then down the tail end. Or you can just tie a small piece of string to the line/strap and let it hang down, cotton works best (from what I have heard) and it doesn't need to be that long, just enough for the water the start down.

Ok I will rephrase the question. Can I use the Traveler with the original line/strap suspension, under a tarp in rain weather, without modifications and still be dry in the hammock (no water running down the line into the hammock)?
