+1 on the dutch biners..... They've been keeping the water away from my hammock through some pretty gnarly rain storms.....

So can I conclude that to use the Traveler in rain weather I have to modify it?

I think the rain stop you've been using on your BB would do just fine......

Under normal conditions you won't get wet, but if precipitation picks up - there is a good chance that a negligible amount will seep through .... YMMV

YES, you have to modify it, if placing a drip line or using a dutch biner is a modification. Other wise, you MAY (or may not) get water in the hammock. It's not that had to add a drip line, just to be sure. Better safe than sorry. You could always set it up, turn on a water hose/sprinkler and test it out. If you get the water in, then mod, if no water, then leave it.

Tell you what. I will just use it as it is and if I get wet I will send a complaint to Warbonnet for not warning about this problem.

    Thanks for the responses.

as set up in this pic, the only water that would reach your hammock is what is collected between your line knot and the hammock knot (6" maybe?). IMO, not enough to worry about...any rain above your line knot will drip off the knot
    You'll be fine.
