Hammock strap help

Hey guys I am a slight newbie to the wonderful world of hammocking. I saw one of my friends with a hammock and fell In love. I bought an ENO double nest and ENO slap straps... The slap straps let me down (literally) on more than one occasion so I decided to build some on line at cargoequipmentcorp.com these are the specifications of what I built:

Total: $7.38


Would love some feedback positive or negative and any suggestions.

While I am not too sure what this stuff is or if it will work or not, like I posted in another thread the Eno straps "stink" and really should be redone or taken off the market (IMHO)!

It might cost you a little more than you have listed but if it were me I would go here: http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/a...ategory/270327 and get either two sets of rings, two amsteel continous loops, and webbing, along with two Dutch clips and call it a day, or call it a "suspension"! You could also get the Ultra Light Cinch Buckle's with loops and then the webbing and dutch clips, either way will work!

There are other places that a complete suspension rig can be had, just look in the vendor forum! (JRB, Whoopieslings, and others)

These sound great. I assume these are for lashing cargo down and so non-stretch. A lot of us use the Harbor Freight version of this. If the Cam Buckle is rated to 600 lb it should be ok,but that could be the weak link in the set up. Not the ultra-light solution, but workable.

I have not ordered them yet but I am seriously thinking about it just wanted some opinions first but for the small price to pay I am going to get them and set them up for trial and will post some pics!

Yes they are non stretch and I have the option to get a more heavy weight cam for the rig just as a safety percussion. What would you suggest for an ultralight rig that has the same reach? I live in Mississippi and some of the places I go only have HUGE trees to hang from and some are a little further apart than I like so I would like to have at least a decent reach for my rig
