    Just ordered another traveler :)

    OK here is my rational.
Over the last year I used my traveler more and more and more.
I don't want to wear it out prematurely so this time I ordered the 1.1 double for use in winter. The double bottom will allow the space blanket Professor Hammock aka Grizz recommends a place to stay without wandering around...could put the ccf torso pad I always carry there just in case.

That being the case The Traveler double bottom in now on my wish list. Only have it in single layer and I love it.

BlazeAway, truth be known you were the stimulus.....read your stance on pods and saw your link to the Traveler one thing led to another.
It seems like my Blackbirds are becoming relegated to paddle camping.

And he's dragging some of us along with him. I can't decide which traveler for my first. The 1.1 single, the 1.7 single or the 1.1 double.

One the choice of the double I put the blame on Grizz..that thin space was hard for me to keep in place-once sandwhiched between the layers it ain't going anywhere. 1.1 or 1.7 just based on how many stones on the bones. Ya think Brandon might be lacing these hammmocks with something? Might need to fire off an email to the FDA HA!

Super. We all get inspired from each other. And by the way, the Traveler is my favourite hammock.

I have a single 1.7 and a double 1.7 myself. The 1.7 DL is probably overkill, but I got a pretty good deal on it and it is so comfortable. Once I figured out how to hang it I fell in love with it. I use a space blanket as a vapor barrier with the DL when I use my TQZQ under quilt protectector.

I haven't taken my Blackbird out yet. I plan to use it as my "BUG SEASON" hammock. However, I do have the bug net for the Traveler so the Bb may never get out of the house.

Definitely the Traveler is my go to hammock year round. I went the same route you did a couple winters ago and picked up a DL 1.1 so I could supplement my UQ with pads. That lasted for a while and worked well, and then JRB had this insane irresistible sale on the MW4 when they were closing out the kelty green stock. Man oh man, for an additional 7-8oz that is one sweet bottom side insulation solution and is my go to answer now for cold winter hanging. Probably no worse than SL1.7-->DL1.1+pad from an extra weight point of view but for me a cadillac solution, comfort and convenience. My gear addiction journey is never over, it just keeps moving around to new places. Where will it go next?
