Slap strap stretch

I've never had a problem with my polypro straps as far as stretch. They may stretch some with first use but unlike nylon they do not have high memory so they don't restretch every time. Polypro is more affected by abrasion than polyester and tends to weight somewhat more.

For the cost it's so easy to convert to adjustable webbing. Issue gone, don't ever have to worry about stretch again. I seriously recommend moving on, just for that reason. HYOH

A quick clarification... Polypropylene is good. I happen to think polyester is great. Polypro's UV breakdown, abrasion resistance and overall strength for weight are not up to polyester. Polypro has a lower melting point. A lower strength to thickness ratio. Both are equally non-stretchy (actually, polypro is as stretchy as nylon, but once stretched, it doesn't have "memory" like nylon, so it stays stretched and never does it again).

That said, I'd take polypro all day long and twice on Sunday over anything other than polyester. It's far superior to nylon.

Any material will fail over time with use, stress and exposure. My experience is that high quality polyester can take more use before failing. I think polypro is good. Just not as good.

Imropincows... got your order and will get it out this week. You'll enjoy whoopies and toggles once you get used to them.

A good, cheap tarp is a the Guide Gear 12x12 from www.bargainoutfitters.com.

I got one as a backup and it's done great. Light, comes with guy lines and stakes and its own bag. I am sure others have other great ideas.
