    Hoya! from New Hampshire

    Hi folks,

Stumbled in here from the White Blaze forums.

Been a tarptent user recently, and am considering hammock camping.

Hoping to increase the places I can sleep (some tricky tent setups in the mtn woods up here) as well as looking for some improved back health in the AM. Just picked up a Grand Trunk cheapy and trying it in the basement to get my feet wet.

I am planning on a SOBO AT trip beginning in July. Would like to hang if possible.

Looks like a great community here.

    Chop

I bought my hammock so that I could hike in the Whites without being tied to campsites.

    See my last posted trip.

Welcome Chop from Florida. I have a place off the Kanc near Conway and love the Whites. I went to hammocks from tarptents for both the extreme comfort AND the fact that I couldn't find a flat, clear spot in the White Mountains!

    Thanks guys.

Yep, it sometimes is tough up here to find a spot.. Lots of secluded places to go if a hammock is available while in the whites as well.

    Great post Tim.

Welcome Chop. I used to live near Manchester and hiked about 20 of the 4,000 footers in the Whites. Beautiful country up there. Enjoy the SOBO and all the great info here on HF.
