    Hello from Sweden!

    Hello!

My name is Sami, and I'm a musician and music teacher from Sweden. I came across this site some time ago when I was looking for camping gear. I've been a big fan of both hiking and hammocks since I was a kid, although I never thought about doing both at the same time since the hammocks I knew about were the heavy canvas kind with wooden spreader bars.
Due to back problems I can't sleep on the ground unless I have a thick air mattress, so last year I was looking around online for some new lightweight stuff. By chance I found an article that mentioned people using hammocks instead of tents. After some googling I found this gold mine of information and soon thereafter I bought my first lightweight hammock, a TTTM, and headed out into the woods with it. Best night's sleep I've ever had!
I also like making stuff, so I made myself a kind of tarp that can be converted into a tent that wraps around the hammock, and I'm in the middle of making an underquilt.

    Tjena Sami.

Lots to read here. Remember, it's only an addiction if you try to quit.

If you're interested, there's probably a Euro hang coming up in your general area (yes, I use the term loosely), there's a kayak adventure in the makings for June in Rogens, and there's bound to be a SKAHO (Scandinavian Kickass Hang Out) up north in late summer / early fall.

    See ya around!
