    Winter weight??

Just curious.......how much would your pack weigh for a full winter weekend trip-with daytime temps at 30+/- and night time temps in the upper teens and no chance of precipitation and calm winds if any
(full weekend meaning= hike in Friday eve and out Sunday afternoon)

My summer pack weight is about 25 lbs or less including food and maybe a liter of water. My winter pack weight fluctuates between 30-35lbs.

With all my "extra" winter gear and food and some non-frozen water, I am around 30 to 33 Lbs.

I need to put my pack on the scale again, but I'm betting it's less than 30lbs with 5 days food. My whole sleep system (hammock-quilts-tarp-BB sack-short ccf pad-suspension) is under 6lbs. and that will take me to zero F; sans wind.

just came back from a solo 2 night, 2 day trip - with food and water (2.5L) my total skin out weight (total weight minus butt-nekid weight) was around 28 lbs. I could make it a bit lighter since I didn't use some of my layers but I prefer the safety factor over the 1lb lighter factor.

I could also lighten the load up a bit since I have a huge 10x12 PU tarp that came as an "extra" with my HH EXUL and I STILL have not cut off the stock spectra rope after the switch to descending rings. My webbing is also an extreme 15 ft on each side....

Does that include the WB UQ? How about a detailed gear list? Sounds like you have got it down pretty good.

Yep! The WB UQ is just a hair over 16oz.

Detailed!? Gonna have to wait until tomorrow, so I can organize and weigh my stuff at home tonight.

I'm usually ~20 lbs for summer and just a bit more for winter. I barely add any clothing since I hike pretty warm, but I add a little sleeping insulation for nights. Maybe 25 lbs or so for my gear, but I usually carry some of the kids' gear. If I'm sitting around camp rather than hiking, such as Mt Rogers, I'll bring more, too - like a heavy down jacket.

There are some Big 4 weights for various temps on my page:
